For our purposes, Unix can be taken broadly to mean "Unix and Unix-like systems".

There's plainly not a lot of poker software that runs natively on Unix. Most online sites deploy their clients only for Windows and occasionally for Mac. A better bet is either emulation software like Wine or a "virtual machine" such as VMWare.

There was an interesting post on newsforge about this last month: Newsforge article about one experince using PokerStars, et al, on Linux. He details how to set up PokerStars on Linux using Wine, and lists other clients that ran well for him, including UltimateBet and PartyPoker.
