Winning against the largest field ever in a tournament outside Las Vegas. 23 year old Poorya Nazari a Canadian player took home 3 million dollars from the Bahamas in January 2009 after surviving 1347 other players. Nazari couldn't believe what was happening. He said his brain had been fried from playing all week. "I was fortunate to come out on top. It hasn't sunk in yet." He told PokerStars staff. Nazari was well out in front at the beginning of heads up holding 17.7 million chips compared to Anthony Gregg's 9.2 million. It took only four hands for Nazari to be crowned the winner of the 2009 PCA. The final hand saw Anthony push with Q-7 and Poorya call with A-10. The boardcame 10 high giving Poorya Nazari the win and the $3,000,000.00. Anthony Gregg cashed in 1.7 mil for his second place win.
