Forced bet

A forced bet is a bet made by an active player at the start of a betting round (or sometimes, before the betting round) which they are required to make, regardless of their desire. Players who must make forced bets cannot check.

Examples of forced bets are:

• The blinds in games like Hold 'em and Omaha (or any other game with blinds)
• The antes in games like 7-Stud or in no-limit tournaments.
• The bring-in in games like 7-Stud or Razz
