David Steicke (born October 28 1962 in South Australia) is a poker player based in Hong Kong whose interest in the game was rekindled when the APPT brought poker to nearby Macau for the first time in November 2007. David entered the US$15,000 High Roller NL Hold'em Event and beat out several renown players, including former WSOP champions Scotty Nguyen and Joe Hachem, for 3rd place and a US$110,592 payday.[1]

Since November 2007, David has amassed US$1,207,150 in live tournament winnings and climbed to 1st on the all-time China money list.[2]

David recently took down 22 of the best poker players in the world, including Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey and Erik Seidel at the 2009 A$100,000 Aussie Millions NL Holdem Challenge (Event #8) for his biggest career prize of A$1.2 million (US$807,780). David humbly credited his win to a good run of cards but reporters at the event praised his impressive reads and aggressive play, which included a pivotal bluff against Tony Bloom with four diamonds on the board.[3][4]
